Tucked just behind the bustle of Hartz Ave. is Rose St., a hidden gem with one of Danville’s most loved restaurants, Thai House Restaurant.
In the summer of 2003, executive chef Sam Sendee and his wife Marysa Sendee brought to life Sam’s dream of opening a restaurant in America. Since its opening, Sam has spent endless hours creating modern takes on classic Thai dishes. Regularly since 2011, he has been given the Bib Gourmand status from the Michelin Guide, and continues to be the only restaurant in Contra Costa County to achieve that!
By providing excellent customer service and truly delicious food (it’s so good in fact, that a resident emailed me to lay heaps of praise on Sam and Marysa and their amazing business!), Thai House Restaurant has earned loyal patrons and excited first-timers. They are currently open for indoor/ outdoor dining and takeout.
With high hopes of eating the best thing on the menu, I did ask Marysa what her favorite dish was, she said, “I don’t think we could possibly choose one dish to be our favorite, all dishes are made with our finest effort.” Guess we’ll have to try them all!
